Parenting young people

Adolescence is a challenging time for families. This is a series of three workshops that are designed to build upon one another and provide comprehensive insight into parenting adolescents. We explore the adolescent world, the parenting world and how to bridge the gap between the worlds to make genuine connections.

FLASH - Supporting families where self-harm is happening

FLASH stands for Families Learning About Self Harm. This is a ten week parenting course open to parents and carers where a young person in a family is exhibiting self harming behaviour. We explore how to work at remaining connected in relationships while dealing with the effects of self harm as a parent/couple.

Anxiety-living in an uncertain world

This workshop explores anxiety, what happens in the brain and how the body is affected. We look at how anxiety can become elevated and create distorted thoughts and actions. This offers an in-depth understanding of the effects of anxiety and how to change your relationship with it.

Healthy relationships

These workshops explore what constitutes a healthy relationship. We look at what influences how we relate; role models in and outside the family, we learn about the importance of boundaries and how to strengthen your own position regarding what is important to you and what you value.

Self esteem enhancement

This workshop begins by defining what self esteem is, and what it is not.
It explores how we think and feel about ourselves, as this affects all
areas of our lives and if left unchallenged can be detrimental to our well-being and potential.

The workshops usually last three hours and take place on Saturdays
